Vaseline on toast

Today I would like to talk about vaseline on toast. Now, not very many people would think of vaseline as a food, shown by this yahoo! answers page:

Mainee: My sister fed a piece of toast with Vaseline on it to my mom? Is this harmful? I'm scared that she'll get sick. I would have stopped her, but I didn't know.

Some of the replies that followed:

Why in the world would she do that? Did your mom eat the whole thing?
Please tell me your sister is in ALOT of trouble.
That is so gross! Why?? Your sister is really wierd. Is she a little kid?
I would report your sister to the cops. Thats just wrong why would she do that to your mom?
Your sister is an a******.
Et cetera.

The inventor of vaseline, Robert Chesebrough, ate a spoonful of vaseline every day and lived to be 101 years old. Eating vaseline on toast should be fine.
